Su Pan

Crossing the  Muong Hoa River up to the mountain where is Su Pan village. Su Pan commune can be referred to as “mountainous commune”.

Also located along Muong Hoa Valley like Lao Chai and Ta Van but Su Pan commune can be referred to as “mountainous commune”. Occupying the highland on the east side of the main road about 17 Km from Sapa town, Su Pan including 4 small hamlets of the Black H’mong and Red Zao looks down to the Muong Hoa Valley and is one of the poorest commune to Sapa due to the thin and poor soil. Walking uphill from the road, one can see rudimentary houses built on the rocky farmland where the locals cultivate corn for their staple food.

Occupying the highland on the east side of the main road about 17 Km from Sapa town, Supan Village is one of the desolate village in Sapa because number of inhabitants here is very small.  Visitors can enjoy the nature in this place without being bothered by the commercialization.

Uncrowded village Located about 17km from Sapa centre, Supan includes 4 small hamlets of the Black H’mong and Red Zao. In facts, H'mong people accounts about more than 90% of the total villagers. Because of a poor village, here you do not see the scenery or sound of commercialization like some other villages. The simplicity of ethnic inhabitants and natural sights are still remained. Most of Supan's people gain their living based on agriculture.  Therefore, it is easy for you to catch the sight of villagers in simple clothes are working hard on terraced fields but especial, their optimistic smiles are always available. 

Color products Besides agriculture, nowadays local people increase their income by making brocatelle product. It is not rare when you see some group of women here gather together, talking while embroidering carefully. They embroider traditional pattern such as birds, flowers and zigzag symbol with many colorful threads to produce sophisticated small gift for sales.
